After the Procedure

Expect bruising of the eyelids which will last for five days up to two weeks. You will be instructed to place cool compresses on the eyelids and to keep your head elevated after surgery. In some cases, eye drops or ointment will be prescribed to help keep the eye moist during the early phases of healing.

Your doctor will give you specific instructions regarding follow-up care before discharge.

Reasons to Call Your Doctor
Call your doctor if you experience any of the following symptoms:

  • progressive pain
  • any problems with vision
  • progressive swelling
  • redness around the eyelid
