During the Procedure

Blepharoplasty is an outpatient procedure and is usually completed using only local anesthetic. The surgeon will make an incision on the upper or lower eyelid. In some cases, an incision on the inside of the lower lid is used. Excess skin will be removed, and the eyelid will be tightened to give a more youthful appearance. The incision is closed with fine sutures that will be removed four to six days after the procedure.

This procedure usually takes between two and three hours.
